Yet another excellent lesson by Mystery Science! I love that the lesson always leads and guides students to drawing their own conclusions rather than giving them answers right away. The students are presented with a question and are given visual resources that help them find their own answers. The activity asks students to get up and imitate different animals, which not only is fun and engaging, but allows students to explore from different perspectives. The instructions given are always very clear and concise, formatted in a manner that allows students to follow at their own pace. This is especially helpful for students who may learn or respond slower than others. For the more inquisitive young scientist, the lesson offers activities and extensions that will take the topic beyond the exploration done in the lesson.

This is a great activity for getting kids on their feet. It also allows them to be silly and play while still learning about animal behaviors. I absolutely recommend this. They can do it themselves, but I think it would be exponentially better if parents participate as well.

This nature hike walk video has some fun facts about animal feeding behaviors. It's a good activity to get the kids up and move around a bit to copy the feeding behavior. There isn't any other activity with this video, so this would be a good video to pair with other resources.

This Mystery Science lesson is all about exploring the natural world through imitation of different animals behaviors . It investigates some of the physical behaviors of a quail, raccoon, and a woodpecker. These behaviors are framed in a way that asks why these animals display said behaviors. This activity is a lot of fun and requires no materials other than your body and room to move around. A lot of fun for learners of all ages.

This is a great resource to begin talking about patterns of what animals need (Kindergarten NGSS). It uses movement and imitation of animals to build understanding; that movement is also a good way for students to begin to build empathy for animals and nature. The only material needed for this lesson is the technology to view it.

I think this is a very fun activity for a child. It is very engaging and funny. It includes physical activity for the children which will allow them to move while doing the activity. I like the extended activities as well. I also like that it simulates an actual walk in nature.

Too many videos (3 different animals). It would be better to have just one video and go straight to the hands-on activities. I did not particularly like the videos of pretending to be the animals. On the positive side, I do like the suggestions for hands-on activities at the very end. The links are good suggestions. Unfortunately there is a lot of clicking involved to get to that point.

Loved it. My kids loved it as well. Nice to get them up and moving for a bit. I really liked the extra activities suggested, i.e. make a bird feeder or go on a walk. Simple but doable.

Great job with the video and the pretend walk through nature. Enjoyed having the kids act out what the animals were doing. Helped my boys learn and get some energy out. The only hard part was playing it on the TV. I would have preferred that it was on youtube. I had to play through a web browser and it caused some sound issues, as well as part of the video, was cut off at times. I appreciated the fact it was interactive. The follow-up activities through Zoom was also very good.

Very informational and kept my daughter engaged. And it is a physical activity so she got excercise! :)
